During the last winter heating season, the geothermal heating system based on the waste heat from the thermal well in the city centre of Nagyatád was put into operation. The system provides heating for a total of 5 public buildings in the city using renewable geothermal energy, and 2 more buildings will be connected in the near future. According to the municipality’s own calculations, this geothermal heating system will save HUF 51 million (~EUR 135,000) in energy costs per year.
The concept of the system was developed by Logframe Consulting Office and Geowatt Ltd. and they jointly participated in the construction of the geothermal heating system in Nagyatád.
Our aim is to develop similar heating systems in other cities based on urban geothermal waste heat.
